Settling down in Beijing
Do you feel at a loss after getting off the plane? To settle down in a completely strange city is not an easy thing. Anyway, let us tell you the correct procedure: Obtaining a Temporary Residence Permit (also called “Yellow Paper”): Take the original passport and residence certificate issued by the management office of each compound or hotel to the local police station, and they will issue a Temporary Residence Permit. Please note that each time you change your place of residence, you have to obtain a new Temporary Residence Permit within 24 hours. Turn in your Temporary Residence Permit to the HR Department who will obtain the Employment Permit, Working Visa, Working Permit, and Residence Permit for you.
Registration with your General Consulates in Beijing
Most government’s request that nationals of their countries, who are stationed abroad in a foreign country, register themselves with the official representative of their country. In Beijing there are a number of foreign consulates where this can be done. The registration card is generally free of charge. Please contact the appropriate consulate for more information.
